Sunday was, surprisingly, guiltily, a good day. It was spent getting on with things - finding people's phone numbers, organising get-togethers, doing favours I'd promised months ago, hearing so much amazing music, tidying and cleaning, and going to the cinema to see The Cat Returns, an animated fairytale about a girl and some cats. The Guide had called it "incomprehensible", which is nonsense, but also said it was very good, and it was. Soothing, too, with some remarkable images. Magnus said afterwards that it was like a Rupert The Bear story: this was also true. I would very much like to see Studio Ghibli do a Rupert the Bear film.
