Delicious cubes of lamb

Belated NY resolution kicks into gear - walking from my house to Balham station morning and night. I feel invigorated plus it saves money. It also lets me take in the sights, sounds and smells of lovely Tooting High St, particularly the smells, particularly the TANDOORI smells: I now get home every night with a craving for delicious melting crumbling blackened lamb tikka. Is tandoori food particularly difficult to make at home, I wonder?

Last night we watched episode 1 of Day of The Triffids, it was pretty good, weird seeing how HUGE all electronic equipment was in 1981, the lead guy is expositing into a dictaphone the size of a housebrick. It was a strange mix of quite jagged, in-your-face monologue direction and then very stagey BBC play flashbacks, particularly the flashback where a Russian oligarch type is trying to sell TRIFFID OIL. The music is very dour too: effectively scary all-in-all, with a Quatermass feel. Thoughts about John Wyndham to follow on FT at some point.

I kind of hope for more stand-alone sci-fi stuff on TV now Dr Who is a success.
